January 2020

As we begin a new year, we are currently looking to fill vacancies on both our Tax Board of Review, as well as our Cultural Commission.

If you are a Canton resident and are interested in serving on either of these two boards, please email a resume and a letter of interest to ahughesdon@canton-mi.org, or send a hard copy to my office at

1150 Canton Center S.
Canton, MI 48188

We will continue to call for residents to serve on our various boards, commissions, and committees throughout the year. It is a great way to connect with your neighbors and make a difference in our community

On a separate note, you may know that this is a census year. And it is important to know that it is much more than a headcount. It provides a picture of our nation that helps determine where to build schools, hospitals, and businesses. It determines how federal funding is distributed and how congressional seats are apportioned. It also helps to see how our community has changed over time, allowing us to adjust to the needs of our residents. I am hoping you can all spread the word on the importance of getting an accurate count for our community.

Your responses to the 2020 Census are safe, secure, and protected by federal law. Your answers can only be used to produce statistics.
